Preventing sexual violence and interpersonal violence in sport (Online Workshop in English)

Within the last years, several athletes spoke up regarding their experiences of sexual and interpersonal violence in sport. Even though sport psychologists are important trust persons for athletes and coaches, the topic of interpersonal violence is still not included into all educational pathways of sport psychologists. Thus, many applied working sport psychologists do not feel secure with the topic. On the other hand, sport clubs and federations urgently need experts in this field who can do trainings with coaches and athletes regarding this growing and important topic.

This workshop will provide basic knowledge on interpersonal violence prevention and safeguarding in sport especially for applied sport psychologists. Topics within the workshop will be examples, numbers and definitions of interpersonal violence followed by information on prevention and intervention in suspect cases. The workshop will comprise an interactive format including discussions, group work, role play and working on example cases. Furthermore, participants will receive material for preventive workshops in order to be able to hold workshops with coaches and athletes by themselves.

"Prävention sexualisierter und interpersonaler Gewalt im Sport" is the German-language version of this workshop. Here you can access our offer in German.
